13th Macau Piano Competition, 14-16 January 2024
It’s an honour to be invited again as a jury member to the 2024 13th Macau Piano Competition, which will take place 14-16 January 2024 at the Dom Pedro V Theatre in Macau. I’m looking forward to three days of intense listening, music making and workshops. It’s always exciting to hear the new talent in China’s piano circles, from the beginners to the beginning-of-career-ers. I’m thrilled that some of my music will be on the program this year: Prof Michael Tsalka and Shen Yue will be performing Memories of Childhood (piano duet). And I’m also looking forward to working with young players on Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 23 in A Major K488, whose three movements will be split between winners in the professional category and performed as part of the prize giving ceremony.
