The text of this work is taken from Psalm 31. I wanted to extend some of the ideas for writing for a chapel space that I had tried out with the organ piece Maluccio, and this piece was the result. The shape of the piece is very simple: a decent followed by three ascents, the success of the last of which is open to question.
